One female suspect is in custody after a male was stabbed in the neck early Saturday morning.

Staff Sgt. Del Byron of the Williams Lake RCMP said the victim staggered out of a home on Fourth Avenue South at about 3:14 a.m. while an RCMP officer was in the area conducting a traffic stop.

First aid was administered and the BC Ambulance Service attended. Byron said the stab wound was later determined to be superficial.

Police cleared the home and took a female into custody.

The matter is still under investigation.
