Federal review panel to visit New Prosperity site

The federal review panel for the New Prosperity mine project will conduct a site visit of the project area in July.

The federal review panel for the New Prosperity mine project will conduct a site visit of the project area in July.

A letter to registered parties from panel chair Bill Ross says the site visit will include the mine site location, transmission line corridor, access road and the load-out facility near Macalister.

The panel, which will conduct the site visit with its secretariat, will not meet with the proponent (Taseko Mines Ltd.) or any registered parties during the visit due to fairness concerns.

A summary of the tour will be posted on the public registry.

The panel is inviting registered parties to suggest particular areas or features that the panel should see during the tour.

Those interested in making suggestions are asked to provide a map of the location or feature, if possible, that they would like the panel to visit. Suggestions should be submitted by July 6.

All correspondence received will be considered part of the public record.

Questions or comments about the visit or other matters related to the project can be sent to Livain Michaud, panel manager, at newprosperityreview@ceaa-acee.gc.ca or via fax at 613-957-0941.
