On Sunday the Cariboo Regional District declared a state of emergency for the Euchiniko Lake Ranch Lodge west of Quesnel, issuing an evacuation order for the lodge only due to the wildfire burning in its proximity.
The Euchinikio Lake fire is estimated to be 2,000 hectares.
As of Monday morning the Prince George Fire Centre reported it is zero contained.
"Crews and heavy machinery are working hard to establish a guard and contingency lines around the fire," the fire centre's website reported, noting strong winds along with hot and dry conditions have lead to growth on the fire and smoky conditions have made it difficult to determine an accurate size.
So far 120 firefighters, six helicopters, eight heavy equipment and additional incident management team personnel have been brought in to assist with planning and operations.
