Traffic on Highway 97 was temporarily impacted in the city Tuesday morning after a multi-car collision in the northbound lane.

A witness on scene, who was also one of the drivers, said there was a stalled vehicle in the northbound lane just after the merge lane ends in front of Burgess Plumbing and Heating.

With traffic stopped behind the stalled vehicle, another vehicle hit a car from behind, sending that car into another stopped vehicle.

BC Emergency Health Services (EHS) attended and it is believed at least one person was taken to hospital complaining of a neck injury.

The incident occurred at about 9:15 a.m.

This car seen above was hit from behind, which then pushed it into the car ahead, said a witness.
