Whether you’re staying in town this holiday weekend or heading out on a road trip, ICBC is encouraging everyone to plan ahead and drive safely.

On average, over the three-day B.C. Day long weekend every year, according to ICBC data from 2007 to 2011, there are 1,187 crashes and 346 injured victims throughout the Lower Mainland (Greater Vancouver and Fraser Valley regions); 115 crashes and 29 injured victims throughout the Northern Central region; 359 crashes and 94 injured victims throughout the Southern Interior region; and 274 crashes and 64 injured victims throughout the Vancouver Island region.
