Crews respond to wildfire west of 100 Mile House

The Wildfire Management Branch is responding to a 0.5-hectare wildfire five kilometres west of the 100 Mile House refuse site.

The Wildfire Management Branch is responding to a 0.5-hectare wildfire five kilometres west of the 100 Mile House refuse site.

"Smoke, flames, and firefighting aircraft may be visible from 100 Mile House and Highway 97," the WMB said in a press release, noting the cause of the fire is under investigation. "The fire is not growing rapidly and no structures or property are threatened at this time."

Three Wildfire Management Branch fire fighters are on scene, as well as several industry personnel. Air tankers and 10 local contract firefighters are heading to the incident for additional supplies.
