The Victim Service funding resolution attempts to address an inequity in how police-based Victim Services funding is allocated by the province.

The City says the Williams Lake RCMP detachment area has a higher crime and crime severity rate than most RCMP detachments in B.C. and subsequently has a much higher demand for Victim Services. However, funding is provided on a per-capita basis, which does not accurately reflect local circumstances and demand, the City says.

The Federal/Provincial Environmental Assessment Processes resolution is intended to address the duplication and excessive burden placed on resource development proponents in relation to participating in separate provincial and federal environmental assessment processes for major resource developments. This resolution is in response to concerns raised during the Prosperity mine approval process.
