Coroner releases identify of victim in July 2 vehicle rollover

BC Coroners Service confirms the identity of a man who died in a motor vehicle-related incident west of Williams Lake on Saturday, July 2.

The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died in a motor vehicle-related incident west of Williams Lake on Saturday, July 2, 2016.

He was Lewis Dwayne Billy, aged 42, of Hanceville, a community about 90 kilometres west of Williams Lake.

Billy was the driver and sole occupant of a full-size SUV, which was travelling west on Highway 20 in the early morning hours.

Just east of Riske Creek, about 50 kilometres west of Williams Lake, the vehicle left the roadway, went into a deep ditch and rolled.

Billy was deceased at the scene.

The BC Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate this death.
