Container bylaw adopted

City council adopted a zoning amendment bylaw that regulates the placement of metal shipping containers in the city. Council adopted the bylaw on Tuesday night, following a public hearing opportunity. The amendments will allow shipping containers on residential property on a temporary basis, and will require a permit. Commercial and industrial properties would be allowed to have the containers on a temporary or permanent basis, but must be screened from view in the case of a permanent container.
