As it looks toward the next budget year, city council and staff has a new check list of suggestions that has come from the city’s auditors.

Last week the general manager of planning and operations outlined those suggestions in a report to council. They range from suggesting best practices around signing expense reports, developing a whistle blower policy, to how mail to council is received and handled.

“The suggestions are in the best interest to be open and transparent,” Mayor Kerry Cook said.

Staff will bring back a report to council on how the suggestions can be implemented.
