Citizens on Patrol volunteers Jan Hermiston (left), Elaine Winslow, and Community Policing chair Bob McIntosh take a daytime stroll around the city in their official red coats and radios at the ready to call police for help in case of trouble. The Citizens on Patrol volunteers work on foot, on bikes, in vehicles and some even patrol on horseback. The volunteers can be found patrolling the city days and nights. More volunteers are always welcome to join the patrol to help make the city a safer place to be. “The more people who come on board the better,” McIntosh says.
