Charlotte Lake will be the site of a big celebration in honour of the successful completion of a two-year fuel management project on Tuesday, Aug. 2.

The project was aimed at reducing forest fire dangers and came in on target and on budget.

Guests will include members of the Charlotte Lake Landowners and Leaseholders Association, which initiated the project.

Cariboo South MLA Donna Barnett is expected to attend as are representatives of the Cariboo Regional District and BC Forest Service.

Volunteers and contractors who put in many hours of work to keep the job running will also be on the guest list.

A tour of the completed areas will start at 12 noon at the public beach followed by a hamburger lunch at the beach.

This adds a fitting conclusion to a Charlotte Lake Days’ celebration.
