The Williams Lake & District Chamber of Commerce received an honourable mention at the 59th annual B.C. Chamber of Commerce AGM and conference in Prince George from May 28-31 for its work on behalf of its membership.

The Williams Lake & District Chamber of Commerce received an honourable mention at the 59th annual B.C. Chamber of Commerce AGM and conference in Prince George from May 28-31 for its work on behalf of its membership.

The local Chamber says it missed the Chamber of the Year award by a slim margin.

“This Chamber proved that leadership isn’t about making the popular choices, but the hard ones,” said past B.C. Chamber president David Bodnar, speaking directly to the activities the Chamber did in support of the Prosperity mine proposal and other issues.

To win the honourable mention award the WL Chamber needed to be nominated and supported by another Chamber, and received that support from the Quesnel Chamber of Commerce.
