The Williams Lake & District Chamber of Commerce congratulates the recipients of the 16th Annual Business Excellence Awards held Saturday, March 12 at the Elks Hall in Williams Lake.

The décor for the “Taste of the Islands” theme combined with an entire roasted pig and other fabulous dining pleasures from the Overlander catering staff set the stage for a highly successful awards evening.

Tracey Gard, first vice president, and Jason Ryll, second vice president of the Chamber, were front and centre on stage to present all nine awards along with the sponsors during the evening.

There were 104 nominees this year and a special toast was given to the nominees by Chamber president Walt Cobb. The tribute included a huge thank you to those who took the time to nominate individuals, businesses, and organizations in one of the categories.

The Chamber congratulates Gibraltar Mines, which received the Business of the Year Award, accepted by general manager Ross McLean on behalf of Gibraltar.

The Greatest Improvement Award went to Chemo RV Sales & Service, Food Services to Loggers Lunch Catering; Newsmaker of the Year was given to Pioneer Log Homes; the Tourism Award to Mt. Timothy Ski Society; Community Booster for Lorne Doerkson; Manufacturer award to Blocks R Us; Hugo Stahl Memorial Award to Cobb; and the Customer Service to Stefan Hoelzler/Hoelzler Construction.
