Cause of power outage in Williams Lake Friday morning unknown

BC Hydro says the cause of the power outage in Williams Lake Friday morning is unknown.

It is unknown what caused a 40-minute power outage Friday morning in Williams Lake, said BC Hydro spokesperson Dave Mosure.

"The power was out from 9:36 a.m. until 10:11 a.m. Crews patrolled the line, thinking perhaps a branch had caused the outage, but couldn't find anything. They re-energized the line by putting in a new fuse at the power station."

A power outage on Thursday evening, that impacted 1,243 customers along Highway 20 and out as far as Kleena Kleene, lasted from from 6:24 p.m. to 11:15 p.m.

Mosure said the outage was caused by a logging truck leaving the road.
