At 8:59 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 9 the Burns Lake RCMP detachment was notified of a fire at the Pinnacle Pellet plant located 16 kilometres east of Burns Lake and responded to support BC Ambulance Service and the Burns Lake Fire Department.
Information at this time is; three individuals received serious, but non-life threatening injuries as a result of the fire. At the time of the fire, the plant was shut down and approximately employees were evacuated to a safe area.
Only access to the plant has been affected at this time and all local roads remain open.
The investigation is in its very early stages and the cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
