Boil water notice issued for Lac La Hache

Effective immediately residents on the Lac La Hache water system have been given notice to boil their water.

Effective immediately, the Cariboo Regional District has issued a Boil Water Notice for the Lac La Hache Water System.

The boil water notice is being issued because of a contamination of the system with bacteria.

All users of the Lac La Hache Water System are asked to use hand sanitizer after washing hands and to boil water for a minimum of one minute before:

•Drinking (or use an alternate, safe source of water)

•Cooking (if not boiled)

•Brushing teeth

•Washing dishes

•Washing fruits & vegetables to be eaten raw

•Watering animals

The Cariboo Regional District has contacted Interior Health to request their co-operation in investigating this matter.

This boil water notice will remain in effect until the public is otherwise notified.
