The Williams Lake RCMP have confirmed a deceased male was found in Boitanio Park Thursday night.
At around 6 p.m. April 28, officers were called to the amphitheatre area where they discovered a Caucasian male in his 70s. The male was known to police, said Staff Sgt. Warren Brown, as one of the park’s frequent visitors.
“From our investigation we believe at this time that this person died as a result of perhaps an alcohol-induced incident,” said Brown, adding foul play is not suspected.
An autopsy will likely not be ordered, Brown said, and the name of the deceased is being withheld at the request of family.
