Property owners in the Cariboo should expect to see an increase on their property assessment notices.
Quesnel, Williams Lake and 100 Mile House properties have all increased over the year, with the South Cariboo showing the biggest leaps in property values.
According to BC Assessment, the district of 100 Mile House has seen a 16.82 per cent increased in residential properties, a whopping 28 per cent increase in business properties and another 9.03 per cent increase in light industry properties.
Williams Lake Rural values have increased 10.73 per cent for residential, 8.93 per cent for business and 6.73 per cent for light industry.
City of Quesnel values have increased 7.97 per cent for residential, 1.84 per cent for business and 2.46 per cent for light industry.
Quesnel Rural values have increased 7.85 per cent for residential, 2.09 per cent for business and 2.47 per cent for light industry.
City of Williams Lake value increases weren’t too far behind the other areas at 6.20 per cent, 2.75 per cent and 7.24 per cent increases in residential, business and light industry.
2019 Northern BC statistics information is effective as of January 2, 2019 and is based on a market value date of July 1, 2018.

One Williams Lake property cracked the five top-valued residential properties in Northern BC with a home on the lake valued at $2,105,000. The property is located at 2047 North Lakeside Drive and claims the fifth spot on the list.
The highest valued homes on that list starts with a home on Moberly Lake valued at just over $3 million, followed by two homes in Prince George valued at $2.3 million and $2.2 million and then a Fort St. John home coming in at $2.1 million
Another four properties considered “Williams Lake rural” also made the top 20, and those homes are all located off Highway 24 at Green Lake, Sheridan Lake and two at Bridge Lake all coming in at the $1.2 million to $1.5 million mark.
Not to be outdone, a home on Ten Mile Lake and another on the Barkerville Highway in the Quesnel Rural area are also on the list at $1.2 million and $1.1 million.
