The public is being credited with helping to take down a large indoor grow operation on Wednesday in the 141 Mile House area near Williams Lake.

At the property on 2970 Amarillo Road, police found 850 plants; police allege stolen electricity was being used to power the operation.

Two men were arrested at the property and are expected to appear in court in March.

The RCMP credit the public for their help in this arrest.

“The public played an essential role in the success of eliminating this grow operation,” says Const. Hayley Pinfold.

“We encourage the public to continue to report any suspicious persons or properties where criminal activity is believed to be taking place.”

The Williams Lake RCMP encourage the public to report any suspicious activity. They can contact their local RCMP detachment or Crimestoppers.

Police also seized more than 1,600 marijuana plants from a different residence in Williams Lake on Saturday.
