Two men were sent to hospital with serious injuries following an altercation in Williams Lake early Sunday morning.

According to Staff Sgt. Del Byron of the Williams Lake RCMP, police were called to the parking lot of the Overlander Pub at 1:12 a.m. after receiving a 9-1-1 call of a fight in the parking lot.

Police arrived to find the victims, ages 20 and 21, injured and in need of medical assistance.

Byron said both victims were taken to hospital.

Witnesses reported that the victims were assaulted by three or four suspects who fled to a nearby taxi and left the scene.

The matter is still under investigation, however, Byron said police suspect the incident was drug-related.
