Alexis Creek First Nation goes to the polls

Alexis Creek First Nation is going to the polls today with six people running for chief and 20 for band councillor.

Band members of the Alexis Creek First Nation at Redstone west of Williams Lake are voting today for a new chief and council.

On the ballot for Chief are Ervin Charleyboy, Clayton John Charleyboy, Pat Blaine, Melanie Johnny, Bruce Baptiste, Otis Guichon Sr., Harold Corn and Terry Char.

Present Chief Percy Guichon is running for one of six councillor positions this time around, along with 19 other people.

Polls close at 8 p.m. and the results should be known by midnight.
