Alcohol suspected in rollover

Williams Lake RCMP say alcohol believed to be a factor in a rollover motor vehicle incident on the weekend.

Williams Lake RCMP say alcohol is believed to be a factor in a rollover motor vehicle incident on the weekend.

On Sunday, April 13, at 4:33 a.m. RCMP received a call that a car was on its passenger side 60 feet down an embankment close to the railroad tracks near the 1400 block of  South Lakeside Drive, said Sgt. Rick LeBeuf.

"A witness yelled to the car to see if anyone was inside the vehicle but no one answered."

The witness stayed on scene until police arrived to show them exactly where the vehicle was.  Officers located a 54-year-old male inside the front of the vehicle who was badly injured.

BC Ambulance Service and the Williams Lake fire department arrived along with auto extraction who removed the driver from the vehicle. The driver was taken to the Cariboo Memorial Hospital for treatment.
