RCMP officers in Vulcan, Alta., were dispatched to an elementary school in the hamlet of Brandt May 12 to investigate what appears to be a parental abduction.

Police said Telisha and Taya Meisel snuck out of school to meet with their biological mother, Trina Meisel, 48, who does not have legal guardianship of the children.

Telisha is 12, has long, blonde wavy hair and was wearing a turquoise green sweater, a grey striped T-shit and blue jeans. Taya, 6, also has long, blonde wavy hair and wears prescription glasses.

Police said it is believed the mother and daughters are travelling in a 2007 black Honda CRV with the Alberta licence plate No. ORNRSE.

Police said they don't believe the children are in immediate danger, however, believe they have been taken to either Saskatchewan or Vancouver Island, B.C.

Anyone with information about the incident or the vehicle is asked to call the Vulcan RCMP detachment at 403-485-2266. Or, to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
