100 Mile RCMP respond to several reports of theft and break and enter last week

100 Mile House RCMP responded to 80 calls for service last week.

On Nov. 21, 2023, RCMP received a report of a theft of a vehicle on the 5000 block of Kallum Drive. A black 2009 Mazda 3 with BC plate TD890L was taken from the property. The keys were left inside the vehicle. It is believed to have occurred between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.

The vehicle was located abandoned the following day on Mahood Lake Road near Deka Lake.

On Nov. 22, 2023, RCMP received a report of a dog that had fallen through the ice on Sepa Lake. Prior to police attendance, it was advised the dog was able to get out without injury.

On Nov. 22, 2023, B.C. Highway Patrol and 100 Mile House RCMP members conducted a check stop near at Highway 97 and 90 Mile Loop Road. Members stopped several vehicles and of note located a male who was wanted on a warrant for prohibited driving from Coquitlam. The male was arrested and later released to attend court at a later date.

On Nov. 23, 2023, RCMP received a report of mischief to Canada Post mailboxes on Airmail Road. Sometime over the course of the previous afternoon and time of the report, several mailboxes had been tampered with. It is not known if entry was made or if mail was taken.

On Nov. 24, 2023, RCMP received a report of an attempted theft from a business on the 200 block of Exeter Station Road. It was reported that a male described as six feet tall, black beard, wearing a camo ball cap and red plaid jacket with brown coveralls, had attempted to leave the store without paying for items. The male was confronted by staff and left the store. Police are reviewing the surveillance video.

On Nov. 24, 2023, RCMP received a report of a theft from an RV on the 200 block of Industrial Road. Sometime over the previous two days, a travel trailer was entered and solar panels and tools were taken.

On Nov. 25, 2023, RCMP received a report of a break and enter to a business on the 100 block of Birch Avenue. Sometime overnight an exterior window was broken and the business was entered. It is not known if anything was taken.

On Nov. 25, 2023, RCMP received a report of a break and enter to a sea-can located on a property on the 5500 block of Timothy Lake Road. Sometime over the previous three days, the sea-can lock was damaged and the sea-can was entered. A Husqvarna chainsaw, Forman generator, and Buddy Heater were taken. A dark-coloured newer Dodge Ram diesel was observed on the property the previous day and left when approached by a resident.

On Nov. 28, 2023, RCMP received a report of a theft from a business on the 100 block of Birch Avenue. A female who is described as five feet tall, with noticeably bad teeth, sandy coloured streaked hair entered in the company of another woman, described as having dreadlocks and lots of makeup. Upon entering the store the sandy-haired woman stole a ladies’ coat. The incident occurred on Nov. 27.

On Nov. 28, 2023, RCMP received a report of a break and enter to an abandoned building on the 200 block of Exeter Station Road. The building had been entered but it is not known at this time if anything was taken.
