Local paragliders were flying high over the Cariboo-Chilcotin and enjoying the spring sunshine March 17.

It was a sunny St. Patrick’s Day for a flight, and a few area pilots were out enjoying the weather and the wind, with their paragliders.

A small group was flying from Bald Mountain, near Riske Creek, overlooking the Chilcotin River.

Tom Schoen took photos of his fellow paragliding pilots Thomas and Martin Doering, brothers from Williams Lake and celebrated the paragliding community continuing to grow.

The two brothers and Schoen were joined this time around by the Doering’s father, Joe Doering, who was flying a paraglider for the first time.

Schoen said Doering is an experienced pilot, so he did well on his first time on a non-motorized flight.

When Schoen sent in the photos, he said the “sunny skies and gentle warmth were setting the perfect scene” for the group’s aerial adventures.
