Cariboo Archer Al Campsall brought home his 30th BC Championships gold medal for archery in the Masters 70 Compound Men category.
But Campsall was not the only Cariboo Archer to achieve the podium in the BC Archery Association 3D Championships on the long weekend.
The shoot saw a number of Williams Lake archers take the podium, once again demonstrating the strength of the local club.
Ernie Schmid earned a bronze medal in Instinctive Men's category. Schmid has managed to medal nearly every year of 20 years he has competed in the BC Championships, said Al Campsall, of the Cariboo Archers.
Melanie McComber won gold in Traditional 50+ women, and Campsall said this is her second BC Championship title in a row.
Two young Cariboo Archers Tony and Joey Szekely were competing as some of the youngest archers, at 10 and nine years old, were competing against 12 year old competitors. Tony won bronze in Under 13 Men and Joey was only just behind him in fourth place.
Heidi Schaer competed in her first ever BC Championship and earned herself a spot on the BC Team as an alternate. Campsall called her score "exemplary."
Hudson Huska won gold in under 15 compound men and had the highest score in those shooting from the white stake mark.
Lily Fraser, won gold in Under 18 Women's Compound category, earning herself a spot on Team BC for the second time in two years, and had the second highest score for all BC Team members. The 15-year-old is also younger than most in her category as well.
Lily's mom Cara Fraser earned bronze in Known Women Compound.
Both Lily and Cara will be joining Campsall on the BC Team shooting at the Canadian Field, Target and 3D Archery Championships beginning August 2 and running until August 11 in Fredericton, New Brunswick. Lily and Cara are defending Canadian field champions and Lilly was the 3D champion in 2023.
