Williams Lake city council approved a request from the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 139 for support for a Remembrance Day Ceremony and the poppy campaign.
At their Oct. 22 regular council meeting, the council in attendance voted in favour of once again hosting the annual Nov. 11 Remembrance Day ceremony at city hall.
The annual honouring of Remembrance Day includes a procession to the cenotaph and the laying of wreathes in honour of fallen veterans. City hall lobby will be used and the parking lot will be barricaded off for the event.
The Legion flag will be raised and flown at city hall Nov. 7-11 as well.
