Williams Lake city council approved a grant application at their Oct. 22 regular meeting for a proposed airport café project.

The project proposes a new facility to be located within the Williams Lake Regional Airport terminal building.

The grant application is to the Rural Economic Development Infrastructure Program (REDIP) Forest Transition stream. If successful, the REDIP Forest Transition stream would provide 100 per cent funding for the project.

Coun. Sheila Boehm said it made her think of the Bella Coola Airport, where she enjoyed a stop at the café there.

"If they can make it work in Bella Coola, we can do it," she said.

Council in attendance unanimously passed the request to approve the application.
