Williams Lake RCMP presented the local Citizens on Patrol (COP) with a signed certificate of appreciation for their work supporting the Williams Lake Stampede Parade.

An Officer in Charge Certificate of Appreciation was framed and signed by Inspector Robert Lake, head of the Williams Lake detachment.

"The Williams Lake Stampede is the premier annual event for Williams Lake and brings thousands of visitors to the community," reads the certificate.

It goes on to thank the COP for their key role in traffic control for the event. The COP group volunteers set up, staff and take down the traffic check points several hours before, throughout the event and then up to an hour after it finishes each year.

"Without the generous support, time and commitment from community volunteers like you, the Stampede Parade would not be possible," states the certificate.

RCMP leadership had given the COP the certificate at their monthly meeting earlier this year, but were doing an official presentation with RCMP leadership Sept. 12.
