Williams Lake Fire Department saw a 10 per cent increase in number of calls during 2024 compared to 2023.
The city's director of protective services Evan Dean said there were 504 calls in 2024 compared to 460 in 2023.
"We have set a new record in calls for service every year for the past four years," Dean said.
Dean provided a list of type and number of calls the department responded to in 2024.
Alarm calls (cooking, shower steam, pull station, accidental activation) - 164
Fire complaints - (Campfire, Smoke in area) - 89
Rescue response – MVI/Lines down/other - 79
Fire - wildland - 56
Officer only/admin - assist other agency - 35
Fire - cooking/electrical/mutual aid/others - 30
Fire - vehicle - 16
Fire - structural - 13

Hazmat - odour and spills/ CO Alarms - nine
