Early Friday, Jan. 31, Cody Haines was clearing snow off the sidewalk in downtown Williams Lake.
His was using a palette board and said he was surprised how well it worked.
"I never thought a palette board would work but it's epic."
Haines doesn't have a home or work right now and is living in a shelter.
"I'm just helping the city and keeping busy instead of doing negative things which are current," he told the Tribune.
Born and raised in Williams Lake, Haines has worked in the past.
"I'm just out there doing my own thing and trying to create business.'"
Pointing to a shopping cart with some of his belongings, he said there was a cedar board inside that he was carving for a friend's funeral.
"I used to work at Pioneer Log Homes," he said.
Environment Canada has colder temperatures in the forecast as well as more snow.
By Friday evening the temperature is expected to dip down to -10ºC with a windchill of -16ºC.
On Saturday, it is expected to drop to -20ºC by the evening with lower temperatures in the days following.
