Two people have been taken into custody in Williams Lake and the public is being asked to stay away from the area of an ongoing RCMP operation.
Multiple RCMP vehicles and personnel are on scene near Fifth Avenue North, Proctor Street and Carson Drive while police hold the area for further investigation.
Staff Sergeant Brad McKinnon said they do not believe there is any risk to the public safety, however they ask the public to avoid the area as they continue to investigate and collect evidence.
Crime scene tape and RCMP members were cordoning off a section of alleyway behind Fifth Avenue North near Carson Drive and the Cariboo Memorial Recreation Complex on Sept. 4.
The public is being asked to avoid the area due to a crime scene investigation and RCMP were putting up more tape and one officer was walking the nearby sidewalks around 3 p.m.
