Mounties seize ammo, cash, drugs in Clearwater bust; arrest 2

Clearwater RCMP and ERT executed a search warrant March 14

There was a heavy police presence in the Blackpool area near Clearwater Thursday morning (March 14) as local RCMP and members of the Southeast District Emergency Response Team (SED ERT) executed a search warrant at residence on Jenkins Road at about 7 a.m.

Residents nearby reported hearing loud bangs that sounds like gunshots or bear bangers and one resident told the Clearwater Times that she was frightened and her dogs were “very upset and barking non-stop” upon hearing the loud sounds and she added, “I also heard officers yelling ‘put your hands high in the air’ more than once.”

Mounties confirmed the search warrant was in relation to an active investigation into illegal drugs and firearms offences.

As a result of the search, officers located and seized ammunition, currency, and suspected illegal drugs.

Officers arrested two individuals who are well known to police.

No one was injured.

As the file remains an active investigation, no further details will be released at this time, said police
