UPDATE: Missing elderly person located safe near Williams Lake

A ground and air search and rescue effort resulted in locating a missing person in the Wildwood area

A missing person was located the night of April 22 north of Williams Lake after a coordinated search effort by RCMP and Central Cariboo Search and Rescue (CCSAR) .

Williams Lake RCMP had called in the assistance of other organizations in the search for a person missing from a residence in Wildwood earlier the same day. CCSAR was helped out by Quesnel Search and Rescue, South Cariboo Search and Rescue and Frontline Helicopters.

RCMP thanked the CCSAR, RCMP Air Services, Williams Lake RCMP Detachment Police Dog Service Team (Cpl. Esquirol and his police service dog, Rip), and members of the public for their help in locating two missing persons on April 22.
