The Quesnel Fire Department responded to a structure fire in the 600-block of Rolph Street at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday (Nov.15).

“The fire was contained to the back of the home and the homeowner had most of the fire extinguished,” said fire chief Ron Richert. “There was some fire extension to exterior walls. Crews quickly gained access to the fire within the walls and extinguished it. The rear wall of the home suffered extensive damage.”

Two trucks with eight firefighters responded to the scene. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
