School buses are en route to pick up students at 150 Mile Elementary School following a small fire Friday morning, April 19.

No one was injured, and the fire in the building was put out with a fire extinguisher. Due to smoke, however, the building has been cleared.

“Fire services and maintenance are on the scene. Students and staff are safe and outside. Contact is being made with all families and busses have been dispatched,” said van der Mark.

No word at this time what caused the fire.

Parents with questions related to picking up their child can contact the school directly at 250-305-7894.
