The City of Williams Lake has mounted two Canadian flags on city hall to mark the 60th anniversary of Canada’s flag.

Feb. 15 is Flag Day, recalling the very first time Canada’s flag was raised on Parliament Hill in 1965.

“This national emblem represents the values we all cherish – generosity, openness, respect and equality,” said Pascale St-Onge, Canada’s minister of Canadian Heritage, in a press release.

The new flags come one day after the city has launched its ‘Made in Canada’ sticker initiative to support local businesses and help people identify local products.
