The Cariboo Chilcotin School District is asking for feedback on its draft calendars for the 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 academic years.

Staff, students, parents and caregivers within School District 27 have the opportunity to share their feedback on school calendars for the next two academic years.

The Cariboo Chilcotin School District, which serves 24 schools across central interior British Columbia, released draft calendars for the 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 academic years shortly after its Dec. 16 board of education meeting.

“We are trying to be very extensive in our consultation and awareness this year, we’re trying to get ahead of the calendar,” Superintendent Cheryl Lenardon said at the meeting.

She said the district is preparing calendars two years in advance so families and staff have the opportunity to plan ahead.

“We need to get into that two-year cycle,” Lenardon added, explaining that there currently isn’t a calendar set for next fall. By approving these calendars now, and with a plan to approve another two next year, the district will be back on track with its goal to be two years ahead.

You can submit your feedback by answering the district’s survey, or by reaching out at info@sd27.bc.ca. The district will be accepting input until Feb. 6 and expects to have finalized calendars by March 31.

Calendar dates marked for district planning and professional development are only placeholders as they need to be agreed upon with the union. If any changes are made the calendars will be updated and redistributed.
