Fall arrives today and with it a fresh look for trees of Williams Lake.

Summer makes way for fall this evening with a steady drizzle and overcast day marking the seasons’ passing in Williams Lake.

Despite the weather, citizens were out enjoying the day, taking in the vibrant Fall colours in the rain. The end of a hot smoke filled summer, the dreary weather couldn’t have been more different than the weeks that preceeded it.

While summer may have come to an end, good weather and events are still at hand. The first two weeks of fall are forecasted to be warm and partially sunny, with average high 16C, ideal weather for mountain biking and hiking.

For those who prefer their physical exercise indoors, the Cariboo Recreational Centre is gearing up for its fall/winter season with public swim classes, fitness training and dozens of programs including video game design and babysitting courses available for kids.

Also coming this fall to the Williams Lake Studio Theatre is the hard-hitting political satire November, with a comedic and outrageous message that helps put current happenings down south of the border in perspective. Featuring a small tight cast, this production goes up in the titular November, just in time for American Thanksgiving.

While tickets may be almost sold out, the Cariboo Hospital Foundation Trust’s annual Gala will also be occurring in November. Set to be a night of fine music, food and formal attire, this philanthropic event is a Williams’ Lake favourite, with all money going back to the hospital.

So, as we bid summer farewell and welcome the falling leaves and rains of autumn, we can all be united in hoping for one thing.

No snow until after Halloween!
