Horsefly Volunteer Fire Department (HVFD) is pleased to thank Global Medic for the donation of a very well designed Fire Skid.
GlobalMedic’s fire skid program is designed to boost the capacity of local and volunteer fire departments, ensuring they have the equipment necessary to mobilize staff and respond to smaller fires in the area.
Since the launch of the program last year, GlobalMedic has built more than 160 fire skid units for various fire departments across British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Northwest Territories, Nova Scotia and PEI
The Fire Skid received by HVFD has a 1.200 litre water tank, a Honda 200 pump, intake hose, discharge hose with nozzle and a fuel tank. It is completely set up on an aluminum checker plate skid. With this piece of equipment HVFD can attack a fire immediately upon arrival on scene, while a second crew gets organized with the larger trucks or sets up a pump. It is a meaningful addition to the fleet at HVFD and the donation is very much appreciated.
