Heritage will be the topic of discussion at a workshop being hosted by the city, Jan. 21 at the fire hall. Facilitated by two staff members of the BC Heritage Branch and city staff, the workshop will help the newly established heritage committee identify heritage sites and values.

Anyone wanting to attend the workshop is asked to RSVP to Chris Hutton, planning technician, by phoning 250-392-1770 or e-mailing chutton@williamslake.ca. The workshop is free, and will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Snacks, refreshments and a light lunch will be provided.

 

My Wife’s Quartet at Gecko Saturday

My Wife’s Quartet will hold an evening of blues and jazz at the Gecko Tree on Saturday, Jan. 21. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the music starts at 7 p.m. Tickets for the show are available at the Gecko Tree. Reservations for dinner that evening can also be made separately.

 

Bridal Fair and Women’s Expo Sunday

Tovi Pare is hosting her third annual Bridal Fair and Women’s Expo this Sunday at the Elks Hall.

The event takes place at the Elks Hall this Sunday, Jan. 22 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

From 11:30 a.m. to noon Satya Yoga Studio will hold a free yoga class. From 1 to 1:30 p.m. Curves will host a free Zumba dance exercise class.

The fashion show starts at 2 p.m. with all types of fashions for women, as well as some alternate bridal stylings.

There is a $7 entry fee, which includes a chance to win one of two grand-prize packages.

Vegetarian supper on Sunday

A healthy lifestyle assessment and presentation is the special feature at the upcoming Vegetarian Supper Club event.

Cameron Johnston, the co-director of Adventist Health Williams Lake, says everyone is welcome to come and enjoy a vegetarian potluck meal, make new friends and have fun learning positive lifestyle skills at the dinner scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 22 at 6 p.m. in the Cariboo Lifestyle Centre at 26 Woodland Rd.

 

Robbie Burns Night Sunday at Legion

Robbie Burns Night will take place at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 129, Saturday night. The evening begins with dinner at 6 p.m.
