Performances in the Park last Thursday featured popular local folk rock group Flannel Roots and Dirty Mountain from Victoria.

Flannel Roots, made up of Rowan Dolighan, Dylan Pritchard and Leyland Bernier, played a great set of original material featuring their strong vocals, harmonies and compelling songwriting.

Roots Rock four-piece band Dirty Mountain played a harmony-driven, high energy set of mostly original tunes.

Dirty Mountain lead singer and songwriter Elli Hart said they thoroughly enjoyed their set in Boitanio Park.

“A real highlight was the sun coming out: it literally burst out of the clouds and hit me in the face,” she said. “It was great.”

Hart said she loves festival settings.

“I’m from a small community near Victoria and I grew up outside,” Hart said. “If I get to play music outside it’s the best thing ever.”

After days of rain the sun shone for the concert. “The best thing tonight was the sun coming out and the gorgeous music,” said Performances in the Park organizer Angela Sommer.
