Jason and Pharis Romero are set to perform at the Central Cariboo Arts Centre on Friday

As you probably could tell, Mercury is in retrograde so the solitude of your own home is literally a death trap right now.

People seem to understand the magnitude of the issue, as Pharis and Jason Romero's Safety Meeting with Fake Countryman and Kevin Yang on Friday, Jan. 22 at the Central Cariboo Arts Centre sold out very quickly.

It would be irresponsible of us to notice the conditions and not do everything in our power to help out, so we've added a second date to the concert!

We will have another Safety Meeting with the same lineup on Saturday, Jan. 23.

The Friday night show sold out in three days, so pick your tickets asap!

Pharis and Jason have put together a set specially for the Safety Meeting concert series.

This will be an evening of their favourite traditional and original songs, which they don't often get the opportunity to play.

This will be a rare experience reserved for the hometown crowd.

Opening both evenings is Fake Countryman, aka Eric Wynleau: lead singer songwriter of Black Spruce Bog.

Since cleaning up at the 2015 ArtsWells songwriting competition, Eric has been sharpening his skills, co-writing and collaborating with tonnes of incredible B.C. songwriters.

Our 'tweener' for the show is the young guitar virtuoso Kevin Yang.

I caught a performance from Kevin at Brent Morton's Guitar Sanctuary class Remembrance Day performance and was blown away.

You may remember Kevin as the quiet background percussionist playing with Lauren and the Yahoos (aka the Harry Tudors) at last year's Pharis and Jason Safety Meeting concert.

Wait until you see this kid on a guitar.

The Jan. 22 and 23 shows, as well as the Sweet Lowdown's performance on Jan. 29 will be dry.

We found (not surprisingly) that a bar increases the volume of the room considerably, so keeping the sit-down shows dry encourages a quiet, respectful vibe. But don't you worry, the party shall return on Feb. 12 when Black Spruce Bog comes to rock the house with Kym Gouchie.

Tickets are available at Reds Shred's Bike and Board Shed.

Note: Brandon Hoffman is the co-ordinator of the Safety Meeting concert series.
