Prince George Pocket Theatre wins best production at zone festival in Williams Lake

Adjudicator Sarah Rodgers gave a short commentary on the Prince George Pocket Theatre production of Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike Saturday afternoon, following the matinee production of the play that was the final presentation in the Central Interior Zone Theatre BC Festival taking place at the Studio Theatre in Williams Lake this week.

During the awards ceremony later that evening, Rodgers named "Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike" the outstanding production of the festival which will now go on to compete at the Theatre BC Mainstage provincial festival taking place in Chilliwack July 2-9.

Rodgers is conducting an adjudication with the Prince George Pocket Theatre cast and crew this morning, Sunday, May 22, and an intensive workshop with the group this afternoon at the Studio Theatre.

There is no charge for the public to sit in on these workshops.

Numerous other awards were presented Saturday evening awards ceremonies with Williams Lake productions receiving many of them. The individual awards will be confirmed by the Studio Theatre later.
