Charli-Anne Erho will be among the performers entertaining at the Indoor Rodeo this weekend in the Cariboo Memorial Complex, starting today and running through Sunday.
Erho will be singing and playing her guitar all three days of the rodeo in the arena, just before the Cariboo Cowgirls present their show.
She will also be performing in the lobby for an hour before the rodeo starts as people make their way to their seats.
“It’s going to be fun,” says Erho, who is making a special trip home for the rodeo. “I am taking four days off work to come to the rodeo.”
Erho has won several singing contests in recent years and recently moved to Kamloops to pursue her music career. A songwriter and entertainer, Erho recently released her first single Wanna, which has been receiving radio play throughout the region.
She plans to sing Wanna and a couple of other songs she has written as well as some more well-known country tunes during her performances at the Indoor Rodeo..
Erho says she is looking for a band to perform with and was happy to have the opportunity to do some jamming with entertainers at the Cowboy Festival in Kamloops recently.
Like many young entertainers, Erho is finding that breaking into the professional music scene takes time and of course not giving up your day job.
In fact, until recently Erho had three day jobs. “I’m down to two from three now,” Erho says. She currently works part time at the Brick and part time at Speedy Cash in Kamloops.
In addition to three great days of rodeo action, there will also be entertainment avert the rodeos by the band the The The lakecity’s Skidmarks band performs on Friday night and the band Legs and Wheels from Quesnel performs at the barn dance Saturday night.
The Cariboo Cowgirls opening each show with their glowing Shot in the Dark performance.
Special guests at the rodeo will include Miss Rodeo Canada Kezia Morrison and Miss Rodeo Canada Princess Kirsten Braumandl, Stampede Queen Savannah Davies-Laviolette, Stampede Princess Nicole Roberts and this year’s Stampede Queen contestants Alexia Colton, Miss Cariboo Spurs Apparel and Tack, Bobi Bracewell Miss CCC Tourism, and Davana Mahon Miss Macon Construction.
