Victoria’s Matthew Payne, a founder of the city’s Theatre SKAM, performs Cariboo Buckaroo Sunday afternoon — one of three performances throughout the weekend — at the Williams Lake Studio Theatre.
Payne graduated high school in Quesnel, and said Cariboo Buckaroo grew out of his interest in cowboys and B.C. history during the time of the Chilcotin War.
