OK, I am very excited to tell you that the next film the Williams Lake Film Club is screening is none other than Incendies.

A new relay event added to Tatla Lake’s annual ski meet Jan. 29 was so much fun that it will become a regular event in future years. The relay was introduced by Samantha Mason.

The 139 Children’s Fundraising Society auction fundraiser held at the Horsefly Community Hall Feb. 12 raised approximately $10,000 for children in the Cariboo-Chilcotin area.

Thanks to a good many volunteers there was a roaring bonfire, a wide selection of gourmet food to choose from and well-groomed trails to race on at the annual Tatla Lake cross country ski meet, Jan. 29.

Sandi Middleton took her bid up over $1200 to take home this beautiful mask from the 139 Children’s Fundraising Society auction held at the Legion last Saturday. The artist Sidney LaMarche (left) carved and donated two traditional First Nations masks for the auction.

Bright, colourful, hand-made aprons will help children and adults recognize the volunteers helping out during Family Fest Sunday, Feb. 13.

Boitanio Mall shoppers were given a rare opportunity Monday afternoon to see a school classroom in action when Grade 6/7 teacher Nick Iachetta from the Sacred Heart Catholic School set up his classroom in the mall as part of Catholic Schools Week in B.C., which runs from Feb. 6-13.

The Station House Gallery’s main and upper galleries are filled with art work created by children and youth all through February.

Early childhood education, curriculum development, graduation years, and technology in education were only a few of the topics discussed by more than 75 teachers, parents, and students attending a public forum held at Glendale elementary, Thursday, Feb. 3.

The Cariboo Draft Horse Club will once again be hosting it’s annual Valentine’s Day sleigh ride — weather permitting.
