Residents and staff at Seniors Village in Williams Lake are inviting trick-or-treaters to visit them on Halloween afternoon, Oct. 31.

Last year they invited Grade 7s from Columneetza, but this year are opening it up to the whole community, said community relations manager Sam Corbett.

"We are really looking forward to it. We don't know if we will get 100 or 500 people."

The residents are pretty excited and heard first-hand from Corbett about the event Monday morning during a regular tenant information meeting.

"I told them we will be transforming the main area with stations where our residents can sit and see all the children in their costumes," he said. "It will be chaos down here, I told them."

Staff and residents will hand out candy, which Corbett has already purchased. He said some residents have also purchased treats to share.

Corbett said he and other staff members plan to dress up and it sounds like some of the residents have a few items or pieces of a costume they plan to wear as well.

Williams Lake Seniors Village is located at 1455 Western Avenue.

The event goes from 2:45 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
