Three months into his part-time job as a school bus driver, Williams Lake senior Iver Wasstrom said he is settling in.

“It was stressful at the start but it is starting to ease up now,” he said as he was pulled over on South Lakeside Drive Tuesday morning, April 2, just before 7:30 a.m. waiting to start driving down the road to pick up school children on his route.

For years Wasstrom worked in the logging business in the Cariboo, moving to Williams Lake permanently in the mid 1980s.

He has always loved Williams Lake and said there is always work to find.

As for his new job, he decided to give it a try because he heard from other people it was a good job and the other drivers were quite good as well.

There are about 40 bus drivers for the Williams Lake dispatch area of School District 27.
